Hola...

I'm finally breaking down and replacing the crapped out 6-disc in-dash (gutted... stupid thing ate my discs  ) and infinity speakers (more hot glue than speakers at this point). I'm not looking to get fancy or expensive, just want a decent system that will hold up over time. Would love to have iPod controls for my wife and would also like for the steering wheel controls to keep working. If you can, shoot me your recommendations for a HU and speakers.

Now, one wiring question. Is there anyway I can work with the existing wiring (splicing it together) and avoid threading new wire throughout the jeep? Thanks!

As far as iPod controls on a radio go Alpine is pretty good. Steering wheel controls can be retained with a part made by Pac called a SWI-JACK. The JACK stands for JVC, Alpine, Clarion, Kenwood. The front speaker's amplifiers power the rear speaker on the same side as well as the tweeter. These wires in the front doors can be summed together to simply bypass everything. The factory wiring is really not all the bad so I would just leave what's there. As far as wiring colors, I really don't remember any of them off the top of my head, but it should be real simple to figure out. Good luck, let me know if you have any questions.
