Has anyone done the Kicker speaker upgrade to replace the infinity system?

http://www.wyckoffchryslerparts.com/20jelispup.html

I am trying to find out if they are actually a direct replacement for the infinity system or if I will need to replace my HU?

from what i gather from the car audio forums kicker makes subs and amps and thats what they should stick to. if you're looking for more midbass go with the re xxx 6.5 or for all round focal is great. i got some mtx axe series and they don't sound as nice as the infinity reference series but the mtx had more midbass.

I did, they are not direct replacements, if you want to use them then you will have to pull the amps off the Infinity speakers and add them to the Kickers. I ended up returning the Kickers and going to a audio place and getting them to do JBL's all over.

Well worth it, I think I could have did it myself but didn't have the time.

If it is one of the rear door speakers I can send you my old ones, thefront ones got the amps removed.

Willy, did you get the new speakers? How are they? Also did you wire them directly to HU with built in amp or did you get a seperate amp/components?

I did recieve them but they were not direct replacements so I sent them back, I ended up taking it to a shop and they put some JBLs all around using the little black amps that were attached to the Infinitys.

Ended up being the same price as the Kickers.

Yeah, THat's what I was talking about. What are the speakers you got, how are they? I never heard anyone utilizing the stock amps with aftermarket speakers.
Do you have specs/model numbers? How about rears, can they handle it? WHen I swapped the rears it was whipmy..

Sorry to bring this thread back to life so late but I just had the front right infinity quit on me and am trying to do what you did by using the stock speaker amp with a new 6.5". What JBL did you use? How did they mount the amp back on the new speaker? Any help would be sweet, I don't really feel like dropping the cash on a factory replacement.

Thanks.
