the last thread i recall on this topic (from the fabrication section) the guys photobucket account is now inactive

if i may, if you aren't set in stone on having it mounted on the spare tire, it's easier and less hassle for the mounting bracket to me mounted behind the seam of one of the rear tail lights

it keeps it out of the way of the spare tire if you need to change a flat, and away from the rear glass when opening it

check the electronics and fabrication sections for more

i think he's refering to a body/bumper ball mount

bout the size of a golfball with one flat side that mounts against the body or a bumper and fastens with nuts on the other side

i'm sure you've seen them they're actually pretty common

Easy and cheap, plus it all hides behind the spare tire:

BTW, NEVER NEVER NEVER buy retreads.

Actually I think he is referring to this: Larsen fender-mount antenna bracket. Basically you use one of the fender mount bolts (under the edge of the hood) to hold this in place, then mount your antenna to the bracket. I know a few others have used something similar. If you have a local CB shop they may have this or a comparable unit in stock.
