I'm working on some bumper concepts and was wanting to put driving or fog lights built into them kind of like ARB bumpers shown here. I'm wanting to do something like the little lights that are directly below the headlights.

My problem is finding the lights and how they mount. I've never had that type of light in front of me, seen pictures how they mount, and I don't think I'm finding them online, unless they mount completely differently than I thought they would.

Anyone have any experience putting these in any of their bumpers / fabrications, or any good detail pictures of their mounting? Part number info for this type of light would be helpful too, as I could look them up and see what people use.

Thanks!

We just had some installed on our '06 Sport, and they aren't MOPAR. I'll try to find info for you---they are the smaller ones, but they have great output & worked fantastic in the last 2 snowstorms.

One easy way is to build around pod lights... check rallylights.com for pod-mount light setups.

Why do you want to put them so close to the headlights?

I hate people mount fog lights next to headlights..... Like the 05-07 factory fog lights.... and the KK.....

Can't find the part number....*#&$&*(#&$(#.......I know they are Sirius fog lamps, installed in the 2006 bumper in their allotted space. They're smaller than OME's, about 3 inches across. PM me if you want exact details & I can call the place that did the install.

? You sound like the guys on the factory floor at work. Why did you do this, why did you do that...when I asked them a question.

I never said where my lights were going Chris.

In fact, they are about as far from the headlights as one can get!

I think the fog lights on our '06 work every bit as good at the ones on my '03.

I think you should stick to the smaller style '05-'07 fog lights if you're going to be putting them in a bumper.

I think this is a great idea BTW.

Me too! I'm going to do my best to have a rear bumper by April  and a front in the summer. What model years front I'm not sure, at least whatever matches '05 :D

Problem #1: I asked first and it's time stamped!
Problem #2: I gave a suggestion/input
Problem #3: I'm stupid enough to pay for it and still go get it!
Problem #4: IDK....I'm out of comebacks

NOW BACK ON TRACK

Boiler I have seen light that have rear mounting and also bottom stud mounting both in that size, would be easy to make a set up for stud mounting though. Find the lights you like and make those part of the package deal. Bumper with lights $ XXXX.xx

I hadn't really thought too much about just using a regular stud mounted light, it would simplify things.

#1 is sold, and yes, it is planned to finish it for the MOAB trip but it isn't guaranteed. There is a lot to do before then and basically all I've done is start planning. I'm tearing off my plastics for measurments and working up some ideas tomorrow and sunday.

I was planning on doing my own bumpers this year, starting in another week or two, but an actual customer helped light a fire under me.

now that marty is unfortunately having to quit, you could rake in all the front bumper customers!!!

Just an idea of course.

Honestly I'm not too worried about what Marty does. If I have 1/8 of the pie I'm ok with that. I'm really just looking to at least outfit my own rig and sell enough stuff to supliment my income and have some fun. I am building all of my products in a way that will allow me to handle any demand I'm faced with though. The other nice thing is I've got 3-4 good welder coworkers that would like some extra cash if it came to it.

I'll be interested in a rear bumper - especially with recovery points! With any luck I may be back in work by then, although it will take a while to build up a bit of reserve cash :D

If you can make a high clearance rear bumper with a swing out tire carrier that doesn't look like a flat slab of steel, I'll be as happy as a lark.

*edit*

Oh yeah, with backup lights
