Alright so, this will mostly only be used for trail rides so I figured a portable CB would serve my needs the best. Plus, I have a trail ride this weekend and kind of need one ready to go. http://www.radioshack.com/product/index ... Id=2348496 http://www.radioshack.com/product/index ... Id=3831886 http://www.radioshack.com/product/index ... Id=2437610 I have no clue with CB radios. Never had one but I do realize their usefulness on things like rides. If anyone has a certain preference or has one of these please tell your experience with them. Also, I'm curious if you can attach these to other antenna's to get a little more kick from the signal. I figured since some come with one that they can be. Thanks in advance! |

You can never really go wrong with a Cobra. Both have the weather stations. Pick one. Terry |

I have the Midland 75-822, second one you posted. I keep the antenna it comes with and a pack of batteries in the Jeep for backup purposes. I have a firestik and leave the cb hooked up to the Jeeps power most of the time though. Its worked well for me. |

I ended up with the first cobra. I would of liked the other one more if it came with the dc adapter. So I sacrificed a mag antenna for the dc power. I can still get a antenna for it so its all good. The only bad part that's ticked me off is the fact that it works when plugged into the Jeep but it doesn't work when I put batteries in it. Called cobra and they said I'd have to send it in. I bought these batteries new at Wal-mart and had no luck. Is it more likely the batteries are just duds, or that the CB actually has an issue? It's got a 2 year warranty so that's a relief.

I so would of, if I had more then 2 days before I needed it, lol. In my defense, it worked great at Peter's Mill. The only inconvenience is the battery thing, which they will fix once I send it in. |
