i dont think it really matters. mine didnt have any but had the cut outs, i got 3-way speakers and they had universal mounts and thats what i ended up doing (they were infinity references)

Can't remember what size they were but, I had the local stereo shop (TAS Electronics) put Boston Acoustics tweeters in my dash. ( I know.... not much help)

There aren't any aftermarket speakers you're going to find that just drop in anyway. Most people use plumbing strap to mount tweeters in enlarged holes like that..... bad idea. The good thing to do is (assuming you don't want to be ghetto) is take the speaker out trace it onto a piece of hardboard mount the new tweeter to it and then install the new assembly.

I should note that the dash location is the worst location for tweeters but the above is the good way to do it. I should also note that if you replace the dash speakers only with tweeters, they will be the only thing you hear due to the band-limited efficiency and the coupling of the windshield. A final note: I believe this is in the wrong section.

Buy what you want to buy and install them correctly.... good to go.

I used metal strapping and it worked great, no problems for me.

BadKharma1701,

Please pay attention to where you post. You posted two non-4x4 related topics in the the KJ 4x4 section. That is for 4x4 topics, like components used for the 4x4 system.

Now to your topic here:

I replaced my tweeters with Polk tweeters but had to cut a hole in the grill and mount them on top. I like them that way and since they angle adjustable, I get great sound with it. Look in this section for my posts and pictures of my install.

I am not to good with computers and I do not know how to search in this site. so I might do it again. so if its a deal breaker, you might want to kick me now. the speakers are in a 4x4 though :)

I did the same. With a little cutting you can get a 3.5" 2 way in there as well.

I am getting mine replaced to Memphis PR 3.5 coaxils. I was told by my shop that trying to fir a 4'' in there would be a great deal more trouble.

Hey guys. I have an 08' patriot sport so I'm sure there is no factory tweeter or wiring on TNR dash where they should go if I had the premium Boston acoustics. So what's the best way to wire the tweeters ? Just run the wire from the tweeter down thru the dash to the head unit and wire it into or With the door speaker wires ? Any help is appreciated
