Anyone have experience with this head unit? So far the reviews for it look pretty good..... Stereo gurus please tell me what you think!

It looks like a good deck. A little overpriced, since the only thing you get over a $200 deck is the fancy display :-P I still say stick with Alpine, but that's my opinion.

I like the goof on their page, especially the wording:

Yes, the DEH-P8MP delivers a full 60 watts x 4 channels. And it’s not just 60 watts; this is MOSFET 60 (MOSFET stands for Metal Oxide Semiconductor Field Effect Transmitter, but you knew that).

I guess Pioneer decided that the normal definition for MOSFET (Metal-Oxide Semiconductor Field-Effect Transistor) wasn't good enough, so they made a Field-Effect Transmitter. Just goes to show that the engineers don't write the spec sheets.

Haha! I didn't even catch that. I really like the look of the deck, but yes it does seem a bit overpriced and I am going to continue to shop around to see what I can find pricewise. I figure if I get a deck thats running 60x4 or 50x4, that should be good enough to run the mains without an amp. After that, just need to find a good thumper and an amp to go along with it , and I'll be set :)

There is that same HU for 274, not bad price in my opinion. I have done business with them in the past (SBHcorp.com) and have always gotten items fast and at a GREAT price. If someone beats their price they will match. Thought I would let you know.
