Post subject:  Keep blowing fuse #7

I have had to replace this fuse twice in the last couple months. It controls the driver's side parking lights and tail lights.

I have trailer wiring, but haven't hauled anything since summer. The harness is a plug and play unit from etrailer.com

The pigtail connections look fine, I haven't felt like crawling in the snow to look at the ground connection. Do you think an intermittent ground connection could be causing the fuse to blow?

Thanks.

trailer harness exits the KJ body in the passenger rear wheel well and snakes across above the exhaust and is held to the body by ribbed pin rivet doohickys

too much jostling with the harness when plugging up can pull one loose, or a stick etc and it can fall onto the exhaust as it goes to the rear

next time you're in a parking lot that's mostly clean stick your head up in there and make sure it's not laying on the exhaust and burnt and that the split plastic cover isn't missing letting the wires rub on the body / body grommet pushed through etc

it "shouldn't" be anything wiring related in the front fascia, that wiring harness is very securely fastened to the inner fascia and doesn't have anything much to rub on other than plastic

leads me more to the trailer harness since it's drivers side, trailer harness acquires it's feed for parking and brake signal from the driver's side parking/brake feed

only passenger feed related to the trailer harness is the right turn signal

hope you're able to find the source, could also be a bad drivers side tail light board but i'd start with the trailer harness
