Ok, I have the factory CD radio in my 2003 KJ. The other day stupid me put in a CD into the single front loader. I didn't pay attention that there was already a CD in the player. What really goats me is that normally, the CD player wouldn't accept another disc as it bumps the one already in there..well not this time. The CD player sucked in the second CD like it was malnurished! :banghead: Now I cannot get out either CD. The one sits ontop of the the other. Eject does nothing. Funny enough, if I hit play it still plays the bottom CD, but who cares right, I want to get them both out...

anyone have any tricks to get this sucker out??? I've tried getting in there with different tools to see if I can get it to eject but to no avail...what can I do outside of putting needle nose plyers in there and gripping the top CD and yanking? I know I'll probably toast the CD doing that, but I don't want to ruin anything inside the CD player if its being gripped or held in somehow...anyone??? :furious:

you'd have to uncage it and disassemble johnny 5

had to do it a few times, people's kids shoving peanut butter cookies and what not into their HU's , stuck discs etc

it's not fun, dozen or so tiny screws and tabs

if something breaks in the process, there are several very nice upgrade HU's for 120 bucks

Thanks for the info...honestly, I would probably be happier just getting a new unit installed. LOL...I do want my two favorite discs back though. Hahaa. Anyhow, any recommendations for a new HU in that price range would be appreciated...what's looking good to you? thanks in advance.

Look around on ebay. I got my alpine HU from a bestbuy outlet. It was a store model, with IPOD hook up, etc. Paid maybe $75.00ish for it.

looked brand new

What's a CD? Is it like an iPod or something?

Kinda what I was thinking...my radio doesn't even have a CD player.

Go ahead and try to grab it with needle nose or tweezers. If it went in that easy it may come out just as easily. Whats there to loose at this point?

I've been totally happy with my Kenwood MP3U head unit - they're around 110ish at best buy, perhaps cheaper elsewhere, or get an alpine or pioneer unit of similar function

I got mine at best buy since I was there already, and they were having a sale, and they had everything necessary for the install, the install gap plate trim dooda, the antenna plug adapter, the wiring harness and the HU all for about 145

i've quit using CD's 99.999% of the time since the unit has a USB port I just use a flash drive or MP3 player if someone is riding with and has one
it also has an Aux in on the face as well which with a standard aux cable will support V1 Ipods like mine, or plug into the aux out on my CB to allow the CB audio to go through my vehicle speakers

i'm sure other HU manu's have "better" units, or "similar" units but that's the only one I can comfortably tell you positive things about since it's the only one I've bought and used in probably 10 years that I didn't salvage from another vehicle

Hahaa!! I know right?? normally...90% of the time I simply transmit my iphone4 wirelessly into the radio with the iTrip, but on occasion, a CD finds it way in there...or two I should say. LOl thanks for the info guys.

I tried removing a single CD using tweezers out of my cars factory HU and had no luck. I'd say your best bet would be to disassemble it or go with a new HU.

A needle nose pliers is NOT going to be kind to the CD's stuck in there. I'm going to go with what everyone else said and say get an aftermarket deck. I have an Alpine CDA-105 and it's a great value for the money. Keep in mind if your cd player is now eating multiple discs, it's only a matter of time before more goes wrong with it.
