Just wondering what you guys are using to connect your iphone (primarily to play music) to the factory RB1 nav unit in my 05 liberty? I have seen the factory kit for roughly $265 (kinda steep), and some aftermarket kits for less. I tried one of those FM transmit units, but was very disappointed.

Thanks,
Jason

I have the RB1 unit and just recently installed the oem ipod integration kit. I need to dig out the receipt for it but I had gotten a better price for it brand new then the stealership price. If I remember correctly from the research I had done was all the aftermarket ipod integration kits stated they were not compatible with the RB1 and the ones that are compatible are the ones that use it as a line in so u cant control the ipod from the radio unit. Also I am not for certain if that integration kit can control the newer ipods and Iphone's. I actually haven't used the unit yet, I just bought a used previous generation Ipod but have to put my music on it.

So I got a hold of an iphone 4 and hooked it up to my RB1 via the mopar iPod integration kit and was able to browse and play music controlled by the head unit. Still able to use all the other functions on the iphone except for itunes ( has to be done through the head unit). The only downside is it does not charge the Iphone or the newer ipods ( something about the voltage being different on the newer generation ipods and iphones , they do however sell a dongle/ adapter to correct that). I had searched off and on for a while before I saw it up on ebay. It got delivered from DHC chysler/jeep/dodge of temecula for a total of 184 bucks. The web address is www.dhctemecula.com, the part number is 82209616ac

I will have to search around but there is someplace that makes a cable that lets you charge it

Now that I re read my comment i look's like I might have worded it incorrectly, the actuall ipod intergration kit was purchased for the total of 184 bucks delivered from the place I had mentioned. The dongle/ adapter is on amazon called" Scosche passPORT Charging Adapter for iPod & iPhone" that cost 17 bucks on amazon. Honestly the whole setup is still a little pricey, for the price of the intergration kit you can buy an aftermarket radio with ipod controls built in and with many more feature's than the mopar RB1 minus the GPS of course, which every smart phone these days have of you can buy a garmin gps with free lifetime updates for a reasonable price. If you have the steering wheel radio buttons you will most likely lose that function too. Unfortunately I live in the city and have had multiple vehicle's broken into and will never install anything flashy inside my jeep!!

I use Ipod Classics in the Jeeps, I am not sure if the Iphone4s will work in it or not.
