My 2006 Renegade has the bumper mounted fog lights. I live in the country so I use them a lot to see a wider patch of the road to avoid critters and larger animals. The left one did not light up the other night so I replaced the bulb with a spare that I had from replacing the assembly once before. After replacing the bulb it worked for a few days. On Wednesday when I turned on the lights, they didn't come on. After finding that the fuse was blown, I replaced it. When I went to turn them on, the fuse blew instantly again.

I traced the wires as far as I could and found no problems. The bulbs are all in good condition. I tried a search on here but could not find any info. Has anybody on here had the same problem? What have you done to fix it?

Well you either have a bad ground or possibly a chaffed wire. I have never heard of anyone having issues out of the stock light set up but anything is possible. So you could find which wire is bad with a good multi-meter the bad wire should read with a different resistance then all the rest. One more possibility that i can think of some of these cheap aftermarket lights with aluminum housing short on the housing after being bounced around. Idk if the rene's are plastic or metal but that is another thing to look into.

Thanks for the reply. I'm waiting for a friend to get back to me with a multi-meter. Once I have it here, I will check the wires. As for aftermarket lights, everything that I replaced is all OEM with plastic housings, so that should not be the issue.

Bad grounds have nothing to do with blown fuses. Find your short to found and fix it. Disconnect the lights and replace the fuse. If doesn't blow, you know where to look. If it does, you know where to look.

JL is right the ground wouldn't have anything to do with it sorry rockies i have brought shame to electronic arts. But i was just going with what is ussually wrong when something electronic just flat out doesn't work. And completely ignored that fuses blowing part of the equation.
