| Post subject: | Antenna mount screws |
Anyone know the best method for mounting a door jamb antenna, im putting it in the rear along the hatch edge. Just not sure if i should predrill holes or use screws, if I drill holes should i use machine screws? Thinking dielectric grease underneath and over top after its drilled in to seal and preserve, also thinking ill paint the bracket black. What say yall |

here, this may help. http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=104&t=81490 pre drill holes smaller then threads. clear coat the holes or what ever else you have laying around to seal up the paint and metal. wouldn't worry about grease. that's the least of your worries with a cb antenna install, also, it may bridge the antenna to the body. "short" Clearcoat is a good idea, that guide seems to be on cb radios in general, ive been running one for a while now off a roof tube, i just finally got around to mounting it in the rear with a door jamb mount |

You answered my question higher up, I did the Clearcoat on top and also some thread lock, looks good and feels pretty solid |
