The new speakers will be seriously underpowered if you don't install an amplifier; I know in the "premium" Infinity system the front speakers have amps mounted on the back of them. Many amplifiers, such as the Alpine MRP-F450, will allow you to feed speaker level inputs into them, thus allowing you to keep your stock headunit. As for the tweeters, you can either buy a component system, or you can buy individual woofers/mids, tweeters, and crossovers. The Infinity system also has the crossovers built into the front speakers.

Also I really like how the stock radio matches the lights on my a/c controls and the guages. Would new speakers make alot of difference if i didn't replace the stock radio?
