Wow, it`s October already?! Let`s start throwing out ideas and discuss what to possibly have for next years RotM themes. I`m open to all discussion and opinion so please chime in everyone! Let`s hear what you all think. As always, I reserve the right to make the final decision. :)

Below is the chart with last years themes. If It`s red, it`s a permanent theme and also staying in that month. If it`s blue, I want to keep it but it`s open to moving to a different month if decided(unless you can convince me a different theme would be better). All others are open for discussion and possible change.

I will also say that Climbing is a definate for one of the months as well as mud. After all, we have a Jeep! I would also like to see a few new themes that would be popular with many folks so again, please chime in your ideas and opinions.

Mike

2006(last years) List

Red: Theme is permanent and staying in that month.
Blue: Theme is permanent but open to moving if wanted (unless convinced of changing theme)

April: Water

May: Trees/Forest

June: Jeepin` with your Pet

July: Patriotic Theme

August: Beachin` Theme

November would probably be better IMO for all Foliage pics as peaks are later the further south you go. For example, last year we planned the ceremony for Oct. 29th hoping to get the fall colors at peak in Virginia. We were short just one weekend... That and it`s still fall in November , so you don`t have the "we have a cool theme this month that is so last month". :P

I like April for rain (showers) and maybe May could be best Floral pose that the April showers bring...sorry thought of that little jingle so thought I'd post that thought up. Feb could be "Show your KJ Love Month", a picture of how you show your KJ you really love it, so it could be mud, a nice bath, a scenic shot in the mountains...at home in the garage  ....in the snow, in the sun, at the surf...anything.

Other then that I can't think of anything....laters

How about an "OPPS" theme for "Off-Road" mishaps (not injuries or serious stuff) we have one on the Sydney Jeep Club for Sept, I'm sure as Mutt would agree KJ's often feature in recoveries that might also be included!
Here's a link to SJC one..

I'm thinking that if all the other holiday type themes are permenent, then so should Halloween. I'm also agreeing with the Mud in April, and Floiage in May. And being from the mid-west and the closest I can get to a beach is the sand volleyball court in the apt. courtyard so Beaching doesn't really work for me. I know I know you can't please everybody all the time but my opinion. I like everythink else though 8)

it would be nice to have a KJ camping one, and maybe something like "KJ Rocks!" featuring rock climbing (right after Moab would be good for that  ). AND, since I hear some people on this site are not into lifts and rocks and such, maybe we should have a "bling" month, or a "mall crawl". Just something that includes people who think off roading is pulling into the grass at the soccer field...

Maybe it should have something to do with soccer mom's, grocery stores, or the mall.

I think the Christmas one should be in January. Then we'd all have more picts to choose from.

I like the camping theme. Posing at the camp site maybe? I think Semptember or October would be good times for that.

Mall/shopping would be GREAT! That'd be an awesome competition!

I agree. Now, how am I going to get my KJ on top of the mall.... I'll have to look for something to climb.

That comment actually brings to mind an idea for a monthly pict comp...

What about a "Photochop" comp month? It would definitely be hard to judge, considering the best applicant's would be judged to be "real" pictures, but it might be an interesting competition.

Hmmm, I can get my KJ on top of a mall. I don`t know whats wrong with yours but mine is a mean climber... :-)r

Don`t remember if this has been mentioned before, but how about a "Me and my Jeep" month? Has to be a picture with you in or near the Jeep and it must be clear enough to be able to make out what you look like. Show your Jeepin` pride.

I disagree having the Xmas one in January. Just not the same once its in the next month and besides, Christmas "stuff" goes up the day after Thanksgiving (and sometimes before believe it or not) so there is plenty opportunity to get some Xmas pics from Thanksgiving on. Use a nice Lawn set up (doesn`t have to be yours), get some Christmas lights/decorations and put a temporary "set up" on the Jeep, etc... Just use some imagination/creativity.

Mike
