My car has been at the dealer for 15 days excluding weekends and the transmission F37 issue has been resolved so the tech says.

In doing the re-flash the tech said the ECM "locked up" or as the service writer said they "fried your computer"

How common is this frying of the ECM?

I pick the car up tomorrow and head to the mountains.

I hope this fix takes care of the CRD for a LONG TIME!

Tom

From what I have seen on here it is becoming all to common. I am starting to wonder if its not so much the techs screwing things up as it is something going wrong on DC's end to interrupt the download.

I don't know what to tell you about your fried ECM. In my case, I dropped the car off at about 8am and just after 1:15pm they called and said it was ready. They did the tranny fix and f37 reflash during the 5 hours. The ticket initially said to do the f31 as well, but the tech called dc and found out that the f37 covers the f31 so only 1 reflash was done.

The techs at my dealer are old hands at diesels as they sell many dodge trucks. I have had no issues with any work done and never had to have a repeat visit due to poor work. I strongly suspect that it is tech incompetence that is causing your problems as it is possible to get things fixed on time and right, the first try.

If my memory serves me correctly I have had another re-flash performed prior to this one?

These guys are big Dodge Cummins movers too but who knows the tech may have been new ... I hope not!

Maybe the new ECM will help

Thanks

Tom
