Ok did my first auto tranny fluid change on Toyota Tacoma auto. Its the TRD loaded one with tranny cooler, manual says 2.4 quarts for fill? Dealer says 12quarts, local napa says 4 quarts whats going on? Everyone searched this trd,3.4,auto,sr5,31inch tires,1999 cant belive the confusion. Biggest problem is the dip stick barely comes out or goes in its a pain and worthless. Will our CRDs have the same miss information? Also i find it interesting that yotas dont need the filters changed only take the plug out humm?

Its a CRD question in YOTA clothing

It seems the only misinformation about tranny fills has come with the F37 Recall, it calls for 1.5QTS? but needs more than that to get it full after the TC change.

The tech at my dealer must have thought it said 1.5 gallons. After I got it back from the work, it was reading 6" over the full mark. They fixed it up right away, but it was kinda strange they put that much in in the first place.

My '05 Magnum has no tranny dip-stick and uses the MB procedure for tranny check & fill's.

Toyota has only used a wire screen in their auto trannys fr 20 years that I know of, not a big deal if changed on a regular basis and with magnetic drain plug.

What is the problems with improper printing of fill info for tranny? Probably language and measuring mistakes, or someone was in a hurry when typing the original into the printing program. Who knows, stinky poo happens when ypou get involved with these kind of mfg/printing numbers. Too many areas for a typo and then it almost requires an act of God to get corrected if it ever does get corrected.
