I received the notice but haven't taken it in. My understanding of the recall is that software needs to be loaded so a scan tool can access the TCM.

My question is: Are there any operating parameters that are affected? (Shift points, power loss) I tow so I don't want to lose any power.

Has anyone noticed any changes after the F31 recall?

I had the F31 done last summer and lost power but shifted smoother. Also, I understand that the people that have had the F31 done previously do not get reflashed on the F37, they only receive the new TC/pump/TQ. Personally, if it was me, I would hold off but of course it is your call. Hope this helps.

I had the F31 done and it seemed that the shift points changed to what those with the F37 are reporting. There was no noticible power loss.....the wheels will still smoke (if I turn off the ESP). It drives a little differant but I'm still a happy CRD owner.

When asking questions about flashes you should mention if it's a 05 or 06. If it's a 06 then you should list the date of manfuacture. The reason is those 06's that were made after some date in November 05 came already detuned with the software that has the later shift points. We also don't get the F37 recall.
