I turn the key, wait for the glowplug light, and it starts. What is the problem with some people and their constant worrying about the CRD?
My suggestion: Go somewhere and either
1. get issued a life
2. get a panties removal
3. sell the dam thing and stop whining

I agree with you. You will pay for saying that by the Chicken Littles, but who cares, right? I figure if it breaks, just have it fixed. No biggy.

Back at ~8000 the EGR died and then no issues until 30,000 - with the Oil cooler gasket - so 22,000 miles with no problems. Reset to 0 and I'll see how far it'll go this time.

22,000 miles on ANY rig without troubles is a lifetime. I won't hold my breath till the next one.

Vtdog does have a point and I like poking fun as much as the next.

My Grand Pappy once told me :

“ Buying a car is kind of like getting married. You take it for a test ride and try it out, but once you sign for it your stuck with it and if turns out to be crap you can trade it for a different model. But it’s gonna cost ya. “

17000 miles, no problem, i love the crd. to day i just got the recall done for the ball-joint and the F37, i came to the dealer for an oil change (free) and left with a free rental car and came back later to get my crd . she rides even better and smoother. did you notice after you get the F37 recall done they reprogram the shifting pattern. no more lock/unlock converter on the 5th. now the 5th is a solid lock converter and 1th 2th 3th 4th 5th is a a nice smooth and secure shift . No more hesitation when driving in the range 50-60. now the transmission knows what to do and it does it very well. I am really happy with everything.
I do run as well the DiGi-CR module

I've got 25,000 miles runs like a champ, had it go into limp mode 3 times, always started and drove normal afterwards, I hate seeing all these posts about problems, I love it, but I was at the dealer the other day and saw the Wrangler Unlimited, I liked it. I can't beleive a company like MB can't fix these issues.

What does MB have to do with it?

The sales person must have told him that his CRD has a MB engine and sold it at a premium

Maybe he should have said it had some MB parts in it.

12 months and 23,275 miles later it still runs great. Only problem to date was intermittent hard start that resolved with a new fuel filter..hardly CRuD's fault.
