Yep - aftermarket fans, mechanical and electrical, are tested in an open shop in free air, clamped into an old Wilton vise - the closest radiator stack is in employee's cars out in the parking lot - that is necessary to get the huge CFM ratings from a wimpy fan unit, ratings which catch the eye of those into specmanship: mine's bigger'n yers
FYI: don't even remove the 165hp factory fan - add a switch to turn-on the factory auxiliary fan for some added cooling-on-demand - just tap into the ECM control terminal on the relay in the convenience center - instructions'n'pics in CRD TECH section.......................
