When i was driving the Liberty, i got a CEL. I was on the road to get my girl friend back to work, so i keep driving and keep eyes on the dash board. One the road back to home, in traffic we have to take the bridge and i start to see the temperature goes up.... i let it go until the 3/4 mark.... then turn the heater to max. vent and max. temperature. It goes back to the normal position (1/2). After the bridge i put it back to cool air and normal fan speed. It takes a more long time to go up but when i get home it was back to 3/4. I open the hood to see if the fan was working and it was full speed. I stop the engine and look for the CEL code.
1263: glow plug #2 control circuit low. So I’m good for the new glow plugs kit.
I was waiting 1-2 weeks to get the extra money to do the job. So i think it's time to clean brakes and MAP sensor. I also clean turbo hose and EGR hose. I make de elephant hose modification.
After that i notice white smoke at the exhaust pipe. I was thinking, it was the cleaning product.
Let it idle for a moment. I notice more smoke, when giving fuel.
At that point i found my mistake....
i have put a plastic plug at the end of the elephant hose.... so I take it off and restart the engine... no more smoke...so i was happy... and think it's time for a ride around the house.
It takes 2 minutes and my street was full of smoke, so i get back to home.
I found oil on the turbo blower. Take of the hose and found some oil at the output of the turbo and in the hose. Take of the inter cooler to EGR valve hose .... some oil there to.....
So there i am.....it’s 2 problems? Are they reliable?
For the white smoke i think i have a blow turbo, but i know you gar's know a lot on the liberty i would like to have your advice.
Can I have blow my turbo by putting a plastic plug at the EHM and run the engine?
Thanks !
