Had a strange occurrence on my way home tonight. First of all I was low on fuel (low fuel light on) and was on my way to fill up. It was raining heavily so there was significant puddling on the roads. I was driving normally (30-50 mph), not hitting it heavy or anything. I stopped at a stop sign and was engulfed in white smoke. I thought it was probably someone behind me and it was blowing over me. I drove on and, sure enough, it was my Jeep. the smoke had the odor of burning something, like oil. I stopped, checked all my fluids and airbox (little bit of moisture in the bottom), all checked fine but the motor oil was a hair low, just under the minimum line. I drove on to the fuel stop, put 8 gallons in it and drove the 6 miles home. On the way I was constantly checking my rear view looking for that smoke and it appeared to be tapering off. Sure enough when I backed into my driveway, left her running and got out all appeared normal...any ideas as to what gives???

Look forward to your thoughts and thanks in advance.

First thing I would check is the CAC hose, or the hose from your air filter box to the turbo. They are known to go bad, specifically on the hose part that attaches to the bottom side of your turbo intake.

Also check your EHM for issues.

Blocked EHM is most likely cause. Smoke will abate when rpm and load are reduced or blockage is reduced.
