It seems like transmissions are getting some chat.

How many CRD'ers have had their car stalled out while in drive? This happens only when going from a dead stop to accelerating to move forward. This never has happened as hi-way speeds
Both of my CRD's did this and my second did it this past weekend. The engine literally stalls outs, like taking off in a higher gear if driving a straight shift.

Thanks,

Tom

Mine does it sometimes. It's always and only happens during my 1st stop after accelerating forward. I replaced the 2 filters and put the transgo kit in both the VB and front pump. This did not fix it.

Curious if your EGR is still working and maf connector plugged in?

Never had a problem with mine - EGR deleted and maf connected (RC2 tuned of course).

All mass-air-flow controlled diesels get annoying hesitation at tip-in cuz of EGR.
When they are clogged up 75% or more they can easily stall.

Jeff

I've been running GDE tune since I bought it at 70k. I'm about to hit 100k very soon.

So is the maf still plugged in? No block off plates installed on EGR piping??
Everything else oem? No faults?

Maf still in. No block off plate. All oem except the stuff in my sig. No CELs.

Also this issue is not a stall. I bet you could coast pretty good when it happens, but it always happens when you need to stop. TC refuses to unlock and causes engine stop.

Bummer, locked TC while stopping can get violent. No wonder it stalls ;-(
Pressure is not releasing, or sticky valve, or bad TC?
darn, we need 4wd 6spd manuals.

I have been poorly describing what has occurred. My torque converter is the problem. It sounds like I have a TC issue.
I have a spare transmission. I need to make those mods to that unit and swap them out.

what happens when you go from driving to a stop?
engine die..what happens if you try to stop while in N instead of drive?
what happens if you try to shift from D to N while stopping?

if things change when going to D to N.. the TC isn't unlocking..
but shifting into N should stop this..

just think out loud here..
