My 06 CRD blew the ERG to exhaust manifold pipe, causing hot exhaust gases at the rear of the engine. I decided to do the Week's 1 and 2 ERG delete. While doing so, I found a wire coming out of the main harness- the connector had been melted. Not sure what its for or where it goes. It comes out of the harness on the firewall, between the coolant reservoir support and the AC lines going through the firewall. Can anyone tell me what this is for- I'm having issues locating it and where it goes.
Some of the issues I am dealing with are weak turbo boost and hard to shift automatic transmission. Could this also be vacuum related?

Coolant tank low level sensor connector? Connects to a sensor on the bottom of the coolant tank. :?:

That's it. Now I just have to figure out the other problems.
Thanks WW

I would advise you to remove the Fuel Filter Head Mounting Bracket from where it bolts to the Firewall and have a good look at the wiring harness there. It is a known problem on the 2006 LHD CRD that the Fuel Filter Head Mounting Bracket compresses the wire harness there against the firewall causing possible shorts to chassis or shorts between individual wires.

The main harness on the KJ goes all around the engine bay so a short in that area could affect any component far away from there! :?
