Jeep tools

I have my 2006 liberty diesel in a shop for a new timing belt(105,000 miles) and a new head gasket. If I understand correctly (doubtful) Sasquatch. Com has two versions of the neccessary tools available. One more expensive set which is currently unavailable, and another less expensive set, which shows as available. They have no phone number on their website so I cannot speak with them. Any opinions? Are they reliable? Tools adequate? Or is there a better source?
FYI...this shop, which I have a long successful relationship with and think highly of, is estimating 2,500 dollars for this work which will include new head bolts and resurfacing (if necessary). Appropriate?

I used this tool set https://www.idparts.com/timing-belt-too ... -6235.html , it worked fine for the job, it has all of the pins required and does have a counter hold tool. The gear holders are a bit lack luster by themselves but with the counter hold tool I was able to easily remove the gears without issue. Some people seem to have an issue getting the crank pin in but i used some pb blaster on the hole and on the pin and was able to get it threaded in just fine.

A simple kit like this has the necessary alignment pins and the tool for tensioning the Cam Belt tensioner. 1st picture

A sprocket holding tool must still be used to R&R the Cam sprockets. 2nd picture (or you can make your own)

A couple things of note:

You want the two-hole head gasket.
You want ALL NEW valves. They need to be lapped in to the existing seats, and the guides and seats are pressed into the head and likely do not need any replacement with such low mileage.
You want ARP STUDS not factory (crap) head bolts.
You want to delete the EGR to reduce the cylinder temps which threaten the exhaust valves in the first place.
You want all new rockers and lifters - they are a new design and more reliable at lubricating.
You want all new glow plugs - 5v metal Bosch, keep the 7v software programming that your computer likely has.
You want a tune from GreenDieselEngineering.

I'm glad you have a shop that you trust, however their experience level with this engine is likely minimal at best. This isn't a dig at them, it is just a reality that there were only 16,000 of these sold in the USA originally, so not many people have ever seen one and fewer have been into the engine. If they get stuck and need help, this is the ONLY vehicle that I work on. I'm confident in saying that there isn't another tech in the country that has seen more of them than I have.

That's the beauty of being the traveling CRD tech... I could be located in your driveway! Currently I'm in South Florida (so WAY closer to Hell by the temperature!) but I have Jeeps currently scheduled in Connecticut, Colorado, and Vegas. I'm only a plane flight away if you'd like my assistance with yours.
