Its been a while since I had to deal with ABS issues. Last time I fixed the issues, then had to take it to the dealer to get the ABS codes read and reset. The cheapest way to do that was pay them to do a brake fluid change.

Is there an ABS code reader available for the CRD other than Starscan?

There is no reset needed for ABS. If there is no issue the light will go after 10 feet.

That would be great. Now I just need to know what part of the ABS system is throwing the code so I can fix it.

Anyone know of an ABS code reader that works on a 2005 CRD besides Starscan?

I have an Innova scanner. 3021s I think. It will read some ABS codes, such as which sensor is at fault etc. It is not capable of cycling the ABS pump though, only passive operations.

I have Garage Pro. You have to by a subscription if you want to clear codes. I gives you access to all modules.

Thanks. I will look into those brands. I found a Chrysler specific scanner from Foxwell that looks promising. Is bidirectional and does OBD, ABS, TPMS and does ABS break bleed. Not too expensive. I might give that a try.

If it works out to be good and can read/communicate with all modules, please share info on it in case others may want one. Tks.

I have an OTC 9450 which reads the ABS and SRS codes on my ‘06. I can’t say that it will work on the ‘05. I’m in NE Connecticut, if anyone wants to try it.

A year or two ago I was tracking down a wheel sensor issue, and I found that the code reader which AutoZone used would read ABS system codes and reset them. Used it to find out which rear wheel was the culprit. It also allowed me to reset the code.

Don't recall the brand model reader they had, but it is the same one as they sell for ~$200. Have not used it for anything else but if it is just reading/resetting your ABS codes, you might try Autozone.

The ABS light came on a couple of days ago. I have an OBDLink mx+ scan dongle, but could not get any of the free apps to work so I went to AutoZone to get it scanned. The problem I have been having is "pairing" the bluetooth connection through the apps. It will pair with Android OS fine, but the apps can't see it. So thanks for the list of potential scanners.

For my ABS problem, the AutoZone scanner threw codes for the RF sensor
20FE - Wheel speed sensor RF input circuit failure
21FE - Wheel speed RF input signal missing

The odometer and trip meter also quit working which means the rear axle sensor failed as well. The AutoZone scanner did not produce a code for it.
