Anyone have any pics of how they installed a provent? Just picked up a generic one for install. Search function here either sucks or there are no install links.

Thanks!

I can't do pics but I got mine from Sasquatch which included the mounting bracket, hoses etc. The bracket put it between the coolant tank and the vacuum canister. Pretty tight but it fits.

I would be real skeptical and cautious of installing any non-genuine Provent CCV filter as it can cause damage to your engine seals. The genuine ProVent has a built in safety relief valve and a built in pressure regulator, fake chinaism knockoff's' don't have these safety devices. Saving a few bucks by installing a fake knockoff CCV filter is not worth the cause and costly effects of blown or leaking engine oil seals.

Thanks for the heads up on the Chinese concern and the links to the install @wwdiesel. I will give it a good inspection before install. Only reason I'm looking to install a catch at all is because I'm tired of leaving puddles of oil in my driveway from the EHM. For the price of what they want for the provent kit, I'll just stick with the EHM.

Be warned, some owners have had problems with running an EHM. Blown engine oil seals, just not worth the expensive $$$$ risks!
By design the CCV system on this engine requires the negative pressure (vacuum) provided by the turbo suction to ensure the proper operation of the CCV system. That is why even installing a a ProVent filter, it needs to have the suction from the turbo inlet pipe.
And the ProVent has the pressure relief valve and pressure regulator to ensure that no pressure can build up in the crankcase of the engine.
The vacuum pump on this engine discharges directly into the crankcase adding to the loading from any piston blowby which the CCV system must be able to safely handle.

Maybe they are not doing it right. I've used the EHM on two Libby CRD's for a combined 300+K. Never had an issue and never had any leaks

After reading this forum I understood the crankcase required about 1/2” vacuum. I bought a knockoff Provent 200 on EBay to save money. The pressure relief valve on the knockoff unit is setup opposite in that it produces positive pressure before the valve opens. Back to square one.
