Thanks again, WW! Yea, that terminology stuff will get me sometimes. Good to know about just letting the code stay stored, but I think I'll have a go at removing the solenoid and reconnecting it and see if the code goes away. I'll report back...

Referencing my previous posts, indeed, removing the EGR valve from the EGR assembly and plugging it back into the stock connector makes the stored P0403 code go away. The next question deals with storing the valve in/under the engine bay. The connector wire's pretty short, and it'll only raise the valve up to around the dipstick brace at the intake horn. It doesn't look too feasible to drop the valve downwards and zip-tie it to anything. I suppose the valve could be wrapped in some kind of durable foam to keep it from making a banging sound and be zip-tied to the dipstick bracket.

Does anybody have any input on the feasibility of making a jumper wire for the pins in the connector and seeing if that also makes the P0403 go away?

The best option is to get a tune from Yeti (Marco) and reflash the ECM! He will rem out all the EGR DTC's in the software and then there will be no need to plug in any of the removed crap EGR parts. You can throw them all in the trash where they belong!

Posting this update here, as this thread's the last one I was on...

Over this past winter, I started the timing belt (and associated parts)/dieseljeepluvr thermostat/finished the previously-started full EGR delete/head gasket/rockers/ARP studs/exhaust valves/EGT gauge install/upgraded fan clutch and fan. Working on it since last November, I obviously took my time, but the results are worth it. The little tractor runs smooth as butter!

Over the next few weeks I'll be installing self-leveling rear airbags, the Sasquatch in-tank pump and harness, and new fuel filter head fitted with a Cat 1R0750 filter adaptor.

MANY thanks to all of you that answered my numerous questions and provided such GREAT help and insight!

Regards,

Steve
