So, isn’t this lost jeeps? Thanks for the info. You think this is a mandatory upgrade for reliability and long term use?

Yes, this is LOSTJeeps, and it has a search function button at the top to find information already covered or posted.
And yes, the head studs are a great upgrade when pulling the head for any reason.
Or, they can be installed one at a time without pulling the head, as some have chosen to do this option when they just wanted to install the head studs only with no other operations. :juggle:

The CRD specific ARP kits seem to be unobtainium these days. I need to do a rocker/timing belt job on mine in 6 weeks. Which VW kit works the best?

I got a set for mine from IDparts. Have you checked them? You may also be able to get it with a timing service kit?

For the VW:
ARP Pro Series Cylinder Head Studs 204-4706
https://www.summitracing.com/parts/ARP-204-4706
Will require 2 Kits (10 in each kit) to have enough studs. (Will have 2 studs left over) 2.8 VM diesel has 18 studs!
Keep in mind some have to be cut off a tiny bit to keep valve cover from hitting them.
If you can wait on the IDParts Kit with the correct number of studs and the correct length, you will be much better off.
