How or when do you get this thing back into position? I cant feed it into place with the transmission mounted or tipped back. I can't get the top to feed upward if I try to put it on the transmission completely removed. I'm at a halfway point that I'm considering putting a strap around the thing and yanking it the last couple inches to the rear. Given recent luck this will 100% break the tube and something else in the process.

2005 if that matters.

I think some people have seen the tube break and just coupled the halves back together with a few inches of rubber fuel hose slipped over the break and hose clamped in place. So I guess cutting it is an option. When I dropped my transmission I disconnected the tube from it and left it in place in the engine bay.

If I remember correctly when I removed my trans, there is a bolt that connects the tube to the engine block. There is another bolt where the tube goes into the trans as well (don't loose the o-ring). Once both bolts were out I just left it hanging and removed the trans. When putting trans back in, lift trans almost in place, installed tube onto the trans with o-ring, and bolt trans to engine then bolt the tube on back of the engine.
