New liberty CRD

Just got a liberty with a blown motor. Looking for engine removal tips or thread? Also what I should do to the replacement motor before I put it in. Obviously the timing belt stuff. Anything else while it’s out? Delete egr?

Where are you located? This always helps as others may be close by and have a spare engine available. Please update your signature!

Thanks I’m near SF California.

As far as I know my liberty is stock. It came with a replacement engine. The transmission has been rebuilt. Not sure how I know if they used the updated torque converter or not?

I read the newb guide before I bought my Liberty. It helped me decide to buy.

I don’t think there should be a rod sticking out of a hole in the side of it, but you could be right.

Holes in engine blocks are a sure sign of catastrophic failure from which there is no return.
