The irony here....people who hate the CRD want to buy a Dakota diesel. Did you really think that through? Do you also think Ford/GM can build a better diesel than Mercedes? Would it be any different than the CRD as far as working out the bugs? VW has been building the TDI for a decade and they still have problems. The problems stem from GWB who vetoed our clean diesel fuel for 07. ALL the BS we have to go through in the US to make these things run on crap is the major issue here. Tranny shudder(my VW had it also) and ball joint recall does not make a bad car. Windows that fall down and interiors that PEEL off make a bad car.
