I've been looking at these for a while - I really like the idea of extra power - maybe even extra mileage - but I don't want to do something that kills my diesel or wears out the injector pump.

What's so frustrating to me about any of the power chip/modules is - no data.

I mean they will say how much extra power they produce - but few of those will mention at what rpm that occurs- much less a before/after dyno graph - or if they really had a CRD to play with - why not a before after fuel pressure curve? or a turbo pressure curve?, overwhelmingly - nothing but talk (and an occasional animated video) -it makes me wonder if they really did any testing or if they just had schematics and said 'this should work'.

That doesn't mean they're bad - maybe they got it right - it just means you're basing any decision on the reputation of the company and most companies - I've never heard of before.

FYI - the only TUV box I saw was Digituner -and it was one of the more expensive ~$620, and a couple of folks who had it have stopped running it - don't know why.

I went with the Edge because of their good reputation, the conservative numbers (meaning, realistic) that they claim, and the fact that I got it for $225 off ebay.

I run it in fuel economy mode, where it may have made a small difference. Not as much as running the SEGR and keeping my tires inflated to 38 PSI.

Main reason they don't give any in-depth info is propriety - tell your secrets, and somebody else does it cheaper, or claims to do it better - all they can do is bluff ECM into dumping more fuel - cheaper versions bluff all the time, idle to FWOT - those usually connect to the Rail Pressure Sensor only - the intelligent versions bluff on demand, so oem economy does not suffer if the driver has a light right foot - they usually also connect to the Manifold Air Pressure (Boost) sensor, for a better idea of when power is being demanded by ole lead-foot - real management requires alteration of the matrices and maps in the ECM, such as what Inmotion and Kerma does - connect it to the engine, yer dumping fuel - swapout ECM, yer managing fuel

I've got the Striker II installed. It's cheap and easy to install. I noticed the power in level 5 easily. I've been running in economy mode most of the time, and have gained mpg for the most part.

My Liberty has been less than stellar on the mileage since new. Pretty much 20 mpg all the time, 23 on long trips. I drive gently, my wife drives with a heavy foot. Now I'm seeing 24 to 25 mpg regularly, depending on who drives most.

I'm hoping level 5 might show gains for my wife's driving, since the pickup is better and she won't be needing as much throttle to get going.

There's probably 3000 miles traveled with the Striker II with no problems.

Well my take on this is: So far, it’s just smoke and mirrors.
The one I looked at (Insert Name Brand Here) only had two connectors.
One for the MAP and one for the fuel pressure regulator.
This “Magic Box” only knows two things and one of them is not the engine RPM.
So all it can do is spoof the CPU on the boost pressure and the fuel rail pressure.
A couple of $0.20 resistors can achieve this also.

I have not “Peeked” into one of these boxes (yet) but I believe there is a relationship between boost pressure and rail pressure. Maintaining a relationship is where the processor come in.

So the big question is: Does anyone out there have a box that has more than these two connectors on it? If so, what else is included?

Inquiring minds want to know.
