I am at 400 miles and just above 1/4 tank. The road trip to PA seemed to clean up the smoke issue. I think the cat is not getting hot enough to burn on my daily commute at very high traffic and low speeds. Something thatw asnot an issue in Germany when I could drive 100-120 mph on the autobahn.

Get used to very heavy traffic and low speeds in the DC Metro area. I had a 17 mile drive from Silver Spring, MD to Alexandria, VA (Old Town) and it would routinely take me 1.5 hours during rush hour. Actually, rush hour is about 6 hours long in DC.

If you can find a BP/Amoco station that sells "Premier Diesel" or "Diesel+", that is 50 cetane fuel and makes a huge difference in terms of the fuel mileage and amount of particulates.

Oh sweet I will check. The local BP only had 45 I think it was.
