I have many, many 3208's and 3210's completely rebuilt in Central America
Yep, they get all our clapped out junk.
I have never actually gotten my hands into the insides of one so I'm not incredibly familiar with the engine, but other than the fact that they are V block engines; why do you consider them junk? I like the fact that they have a very simple injection system and are very easy to crack open for repairs. Do they have some hidden problems I just never noticed when hanging around my Buddie's custom shop? FYI all of the drive trains used on the Central American buses are bought new and installed into beefed up and customized frames and bodies (i.e. 360 5 speed trannys, BIG Borg/Warner 2 speed rear ends, 8 ton springs, Air brakes, etc), so they are not junk when they are put in initially. If they were to be used as they are when they arrive from the US they wouldn't last one week on those roads.
