have you all forgot that dodge used to nkow how to build a small car
the neon = cheap fund to drive and got 40MPG
then they made it bigger and it got 32-35 highway
then the replaced it witha AWD that got no better then 30

at mopar you can get any car you want sjut so long as what "you " want is 20-30 MPG and 20-35K$ (bulk of market )

trucks
the dak keeps gettign bigger and more lie a full size with no relacement in the small truck line

for me i think some thing lie a J8 or brute samll
then dak then right up to light and HD 2500
thank or make the dak smaller again and use the 1500 as it should be 10k tow tops 9if you need moer you need a bigger truck )

I believe a downsized Jeep with all-electric or small bio-diesel engine will sell many vehicles if the quality and warranty service are first rate.
Most of us here loved the pre 2008 Liberty for its style and function, not for flash or bigness. Liberty owners can not be said to have penis envy.

Our only hope is that in the next vain attempt to stop the bleeding, they sell of the Jeep brand to someone that can show it some QUALITY love, that it has been sorely lacking. Tata wouldn't be my first choice, but I can't think of anyone that has any similar vehicle development experience right now except for maybe Unimog from Germany.

How cool would that be tho, to have a Unimog with the Jeep nameplate. Roads? Where we are going, we don't NEED roads.

Ever looked at the front of a Unimog? See that three pointed star?

Been there - done that - but I didn't get the t-shirt.

MB did not have a clue how to produce a cheaper car, so the brief merger gave them what they though they wanted. When MB found out the lower production costs was an accounting game like a short skirt and a low cut top, they dumped Chrysler.
Fiat lacks the knowledge on how to sell cars in North American Market which accounts for half of the worlds sales.
Chrysler does not know how to make a smaller car that is great to own which can be documented by the Affair they had with Mitsubishi for many years. As we all know, Mitsubishi broke up the Affair they had with Chrysler.

What a SOAP OPERA

Will Proctor and Gamble buy them both out next :?: :?: :?: :?: :?:

Actually it was Daimler that decided to dump Mitsu. Might have had something to do with the Mitsu executive hooker scandal - don't know. Maybe it's because their cars weren't any good.

Daimler never wanted to produce a cheaper car - it 'dilutes the brand image.' All they wanted was money - and they took a TON of it. When it was all gone - they sold out to a corporate chop shop who announced they were 'In it for the long haul.' (1.76 years) They too were only in it for the money. Notice how Chrysler Financial kind of disappeared? Now you finance your Chrysler vehicles through GMAC (owned by guess who?)

Comparing Chrysler to a hooker is interesting - considering that many of them woldwide are also slaves to their pimps and all the profit goes to someone else. Unfortunately she's getting old that things are starting to sag...
