The first set of fronts seemed to go "soft" in a couple thousand miles. I put in a new pair with some celastos on the shafts to limit the bump travel a bit. The first pair does not show any sign of leakage. I intended to send them to Bilstein in SanDiego over a year ago to be dynoed to see if they are out of spec, but still have not gotten around to it.

We now have over 20K on the second set and they do not seem to have deteriorated. I also machined an alloy spacer to make up for the sag of the driver's side front spring, but that is not relevant to shock performance.

So, I don't know if more bump stop is really essential. The measurements I took suggest that the OEM stops should be adequate to avoid having the Bilsteins destroyed by internal bottoming.

Very happpy with the overall significantly firmer damping.

I think its great someone tried the Bilstein shocks. :D

Don't want to trade them for my Rancho's though!

All my buddies who regularly make long trips to Morocco think Bilstein are THE same shocks to have....specially due to the re-inforced fix.

Have you ever had OME prior to your Ranchos ? As you know, i am moderately satisfied with my OME :JEEPIN:

Anyone with Fox ?
