I personally go for the Mobil M1-301, if you go to the Wix filter site and cross reference the specs it is identical to the recommended filter for the Jeep. (other than size of course)

I figured the bypass element should provide a bit more soot control. I planned on doing a used oil analysis, but then I sold the vehicle to my buddy. Hopefully he can share any thoughts at the next oil change.

Interesting, Chris. Would like to see oil sample data while running this filter. May get one installed on the CRD at the next oil change and then run UOA's to see if they are doing what they claim. If they do perform like they claim, then it would be a good choice.

Agreed, I was very keen to see if I could prove its effectiveness with UOA. If it allows the oil life to be doubled, then the filters will pay for themselves and then some with the price of synthetic oil these days. If I get any data through my buddy, I'll be sure to share it here.
