05, only 22000 miles on it so it sits around a fair bit :) OEM Red Top still functions perfectly.

My 05 was built in June 2004. It had a standard Mopar lead acid battery when I bought it in November 2007 with 16K miles. I replaced that battery last year when it started gassing.

I still had the red top at 50k+ but the summers here in georgia can kill a battery as much as cold temps..Recently replaced it with a yellow top for peace of mind. The red top went in the 95 GC (road warrior)

I got two dead factory optimas here that I am trying to figure out how to get replaced via warrantee, otherwise they are just paper weights taking up room in my garage.

Replaced with a Costco battery, cheaper, more cranking amps, better warrantee, and won't randomly fail without warning.

After having the optima fail just 20 minutes after being driven and starting just fine I decided there was no reason to play russian roulette with my vehicle starting.

I've had that happen three or four times with conventional batteries :? TWICE it happened to my wife while shopping, she was not a happy camper

My factory battery was buggered due to the body control module bug that drained it too long to be recovered. The dealer replaced it with an equivalent CCA mopar battery at time of purchase, which worked fine for just over 3 years. A few months ago, I started having the Sat radio forget that it was provisioned and default to the weather and traffic station, then one day the jeep would not QUITE crank. I put 2 and 2 together, got it tested and sho-'nuf, it was not holding a charge. A new battery was in order so I got a red-top and all is well. Hopefully it'll last longer than the mopar unit.

November 2005 built 2006 with 65K and Red Top going strong. I have them in several farm rigs that get abused and they work well for years and years.

Well adding the 29% and 41% shows that 70 percent of the participating owners are still on their original Optima battery

My wife's 06 Mopar died last week. My 05 Optima is still fine.

I bought her a "regular" heavy duty battery to replace it because it was $89 vs the $200 for the Optima - and she never takes hers off pavement as I do with mine so potential spillage or vibration isn't an issue. (Besides, the fact is, I did all sorts of really nast 4X4ing back in the 80s with the elcheapo batteries from Schucks auto and never had a problem so some of the problems they fix may be exaggerated to justify the double price)

Built Feb 2006 and still on the original battery. I like to replace mine every 3 years so it will be getting replaced soon. I used the stereo once and drained it to th epoint th eJeep would not start but everything worked fine after a jump. I have used Optimas for about 20 years now and love them.

May '05 build purchased in October '05. 67k and still going strong. Only issue was one of the battery cables worked loose after about 2k miles. Tightened it up and it's run great ever since. Of course, NorCal weather is pretty mild but we do go skiing quite a bit in the winter and it gets pretty cold in the mountains.

Our '05 with the factory Red Top just started to crank slower last week with 70K miles on it. I wondered if the Habor Fake Tools OBD scan tool I left plugged in constantly was drawing it down so I charged the battery up and removed the scan tool. Wife said it was starting normally now. She drives at least 45 mins. to work each day so I would assume the battery was getting a full charge each day. I would not think the scan tool draws that much when plugged in but I could be wrong. We shall see.
