Leave it to the EPA to screw everything up. They force manufacturers to put so much emissions crap on these diesel engines that they end up consuming 50% more fuel...thereby counter-acting any environmental benefit the emissions crap was supposedly installed to prevent in the first place. Government....gotta' love it.

If the fools would leave diesels alone we'd all be better off. Less fuel consumed equals less pollution emmitted.

I just so happened to read "Automobile Magazine" today when I was in to get a state inspection on my truck. They had an article on diesel cars, and it said, most US and Jap manufacturers are abandoning them in favor of gassers and hybrids, due to the complex emission controls that are now required on them. They said even GM abandoned making smaller
Duramax diesels for the 1/2 ton pick ups, after they spent over 10 Million in research, but then again they are "Government Motors Company". They are like the post office, they can be as wasteful as they want.

I think that in this country --The one that give money to everybody arround the world-- With the perfect economy, cannot produce a vehicle with a diesel engine with low emision.
Mercedes have one that you can pis in it. The problem is money, tax money, The fuel industry support the goverment of the USA by paying a lot of taxes and they (The goverment) will not going to let the cars company to produce a vehicle that will be large, strong and capable of giving 60 mpg. What they will let them to produce are those fagget cars with 40 mpg at the must.
Revenue, money, gentlemen. and that is the issue.
South America, India, Europe, can drive what ever they want what ever the world produce, if you have the money to buy it. But here, you know "IS THE BEST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD". :dizzy: :dead:
