I assume the airfilter is in the airbox you refer to. Think I will check mine later today....

I installed Samco hoses and a provent filter two years ago....is there another hose I should check?
You should be fine if you have been running the provent that long but it is the hose from the air box to the main engine inlet. It sits right over the top of your turbo to IC hose (passenger side hose) and as the hose build up turbo to IC hose builds oil it get all over it and eats through it. Most of the time you never notice it because there is no lose in power. BUt i washed mine tonight time to lube the sway bar tomorrow and wax it.

Had the hemi torque converter installed, low stall compared to medium stall stock crd (clearly visible from vanes angle). Had the torque lockup valve modified with .050 oversize and longer valve skirt in the transmission pump body.(trans mechanic said that this valve have a tendency to grip, allowing less lockup pressure to flow, he sells rebuilt pump body and valve for 200$, will see if it works in the future) Had both oil filters changed in the tranny. Works really nice now.

Canadian 1075$ parts and labor.

Stall speed is 150 rpm lower now.

That's what i've done today...

Right now, i would say that everything happens 200 rpm lower. I like it a lot. Not towed yet. Something strange is happening at the end of the shift sequence: Before, the shift from 4th to 5th happened at the same moment the torque locked up, making a huge rpm drop.

Now, seems like the lockup happens in 4th gear, then, the tranny shifts in 5th, or the reverse situation.

Like it a lot better... Not sure though, if it's the tq retrofit or the lockup valve mod...

The part #for the tq is unknown, but it was hand written on the tq: "hemi 02-07" and the mech told me that the 5.7 tq was different part than that of the 4.7 for the same ram truck.

I'll try to find the part#...

Sport

Changed ATF fluid in transfer case, changed engine oil and filter, put on a fumoto, rotated the tires front to back. Amsoil all the way.

Last week,
Installed FIA grille cover, you know like the canvass ones you see on the big diesel radiators. My thermostat opens way to early and KJ temperature guage always reads way too low on these desert early mornings when I go to work. This cover has two grille openings as optional use.
And it works! Raises the temps and on the way home when temps have warmed up I simply remove it.
Makes the KJ look really different and I like it! I will get pics soon.

Well, my first modification... I'm not usually much on mods, but this almost seems more like going back to stock (or what stock should have been).
Just installed the GDE transmission control module, downloaded the stock tune and sent it off to Keith for reprogramming.

I took the Liberty for a spin with just the new TCM. It now shifts where it should; the engine rides the torque instead of just above it. Feels quite different, but I will have more experience with it after driving it to work this way for a few days. The best way to describe it that the tranny now shifts where I would if it was a manual.

I flipped my spare tire mount long ago so the tire is right against the bumper. Today a young lady destroyed her hood, grill and bumper on the spare tire and trailer hitch when she rear ended me. No damage to the Jeep I can see. Very good mod if you haven't done it yet.

Tried to start it  Almost turns it over--like cranks a few times and then just whirrrrrrs. Been an intermittent thing until recently when it got cold.

Good thing I have my old f250 for backup until I grab a starter for it.

Sport: Changed the front and rear differential fluids, Amsoil.

New rear brake pads, Mopar.

Now Sport is all caught up on its maintenance for a while.

2006 KJ CRD (stock turbo) - Installed front axle pinion seal and rear left axle shaft seal. Both were leaking substantially due to an overnight stay in a river sandbar 30,000 miles ago. We were going through a pint every 5000 miles in each axle.

We noticed the parking brakes were shot...one pad missing, the other almost gone and the external dust plate was lose due to two worn out rivets. Garage time = Good time!

I did exactly the same thing today HJ after walmart telling me a 800cca battery that when tested was putting out 450cca. About that good battery also got my ARB premium recovery kit and Tire sealer kit.

P.S. I am getting tired of LOST members being screwed over by Walmarx :banghead: :furious: :banghead: :furious:

Just home from the shop (about 2 hour drive). Left this morning at 8:30 am. Spent 4 hours removing and replacing torque converter with updated Mopar unit (I believe some call it the "euro" version, but it says "Made in USA" on the box I got :? ), about one hour eating lunch, and the other 4 hours wrestling that :furious: #$@%@^ transmission dipstick tube back into place. What a horrible design!! The job went pretty well other than that.

After a warm up run and checking the trans fluid a few times it felt good to finally lay the Hot tune power down; :jester: :-)r

It was raining, so the roads were wet; let's just say that with the ESP off it wants to spin the rear tires well into second and then just pulls REAL hard. My first two tanks with the GDE tune have come out to 24.5 hand calculated. This is with bad weather, snow-packed roads and intermittent use of 4wd!! This means that I have gained a solid 5 MPG for sure and I am holding out that it may be more due to the extreme conditions I have been running it in. For historical reference my first two tanks hand calc'd to 17 MPG and my third to 19.8 MPG. (I've only filled it 5 times now.)

Can't wait to hook up the trailer and see how it pulls; but I spotted some brake pads needing replacement while it was up on the rack!! :banghead:
