Rock,
If you need help with the almost mandatory lift pump (I have a kennedy inline), provent ccv filter routing/install, and to see what a racor looks like, just holler. I'm in northern COS right by the Air Farce Academy (not ragging on the Air Force...just the Academy....went to a rival school myself)

I'll do that, but it might be a while. Im planning on doing the dodge in tank pump, but I don't yet know every thing i need nor can I afford it right now. I have to wait on a few things until I get the emissions test done,(provent/ccv, etc) I don't want any chance of it not passing. As soon as that's done though, it's on! I'll be cutting the muffler off tomorrow, and might do the oil change as well. I have to find a skid plate to, the oil filter is WAY TO CLOSE to the ground, and NEEDS some protection!

Both Jeeps are 05, and the leather is nice. The seats are still kind of hard though, they should be more comfy.

Same here, up north, off of North Gate Rd.

Rock,

Cool, I have a transmission jack which would help lower/raise the fuel tank if you need to borrow it.

Thanx for all the help guys, it will be great to not be doing everything my self like I normally have to do :ROTFL: It's a good thing I got up early today, I wouldn't have gotten anything done if I hadn't. I got out there and cut Libby's muffler off. As I opened the garage door I could see snow falling :furious: so I knew I needed to hurry! I got it cut, got the new pipe welded together, and got it under her before it really started coming down. I had to weld the tail pipe section on the new pipe while it was still in place, and it wasn't any more fun with snow falling :ROTFL: I got my tools cleaned up, and shut it down! I hate snow, I wanted to do some more  It's ok though, at least I can actually hear the engine running now! :ROTFL: Here's a pic of Libby, and Candy, Libby looks kind of tiny sitting next to candy!

It's the camera, I can't figure it out. My mom got it for me for Christmas, it's not very good. Also, it was kind of dark.

I have a quick question. I had the hood open today, and noticed the trans dip stick was pulled out. I pushed it back in, and checked it when I got home again after driving around. It was out again. I have a feeling it's pressure inside the trans blowing it out, but don't know why it would do that. Where is the vent tube in the trans? I thought maybe it could be clogged. Does anyone have any other ideas?

Nice to have another CO CRD on here. Haven't been very active here yet myself, but just about to try to push the Euro TC/pump replacement through on a 7/70 warranty transfer and have been reading up.

Regarding the Trans dipstick, I had a little "mini bungee cord" laying around, 3-4 inches long, that I wrapped around some bracket, and hooked both ends through the dipstick handle. Has worked very well so far. We'll see how it holds up to the heat.

That black lifted CRD you thankfully didn't end up buying may have some serious issues going on, for anyone who might also come across it in the near future. I looked at it at a dealer (Rocky Mountain Toyota) near Denver in Sept 2010. They were asking about the same at the time, and I think the miles were just under 80k. test drove it, and everything seemed ok, at least to a CRD newbie like me. Someone grabbed it the next day, and I continued my search. So I'll leave it to the imagination why it's back on a dealer lot 3 months later. but buyer beware...

Dude take a joke. I just sold a modified ZJ of my own that would spank half the stuff on the trail. I'm just teasing.

I know, I was just playing along. :goink:

I love laughing at all the "rock crawlers" I see on craigslist and stuff. I can't believe people call a Cherokee with a 4" lift a "rock crawler" :ROTFL: I've taken my ZJ places a friend wouldn't try in his TJ on 1 tons. I don't screw around when I build stuff ether, I always over build. Candy will soon be getting hybrid 1 tons, a Cummins 4BT, and 38's. I just have to find an engine before I can tear her apart.

Hey, keep me posted on your progress with the 4BT. I'm starting to learn about them, and I have in mind to stuff one into my own ZJ. I'd like to do it without too much pain, but honestly don't know about the transmission options yet. Or how much of the electronics are going to be pissed when their engine isn't in there anymore.

I don't think I'll have to worry about electronics being pissed, there all going in the scrap pile. :ROTFL: My plan so far is to use a TH400, and a 203/205 combo. All of my measuring tells me just about everything will be in about the same place. The rear drive shaft will actually be longer then it is now by an inch or so. If your planning on doing the 4BT swap in your ZJ geordi, plan for a complete re build. You can not put it in there with out doing something to the "frame", and the shear weight of the engine alone will break your dana 30 :ROTFL: I will be tearing her down to basically a bare chassis, and starting over. The frame will be plated from one end to the other, the rockers are coming off and the sliders are moving up. There will be boat sides, and a flat belly pan/skid plate. Im planning a completely new suspension for her, and of course coil overs. The rear will be moving back a bit more to, and the suspension I just built will be changed slightly to accommodate the bigger axle/tires. I should be working on her now, but I only have a tiny 2 car garage to work in. If I get other projects, or paying jobs I won't have anywhere to work. This is gonna have to be a wham bam project, not a winter long drag out.

Finally got a chance to get some things done today. I pulled the MAP sensor and cleaned it off, it was caked so bad you couldn't even tell there were holes in it. I also did my own version of the elephant hose mod. I had a short piece of hose laying around from a fish tank, and it was just enough to reach the air box. I slipped it on the manifold, and put the other end in an oil quart.(empty of course) I had to poke some holes in the top of the quart to let the pressure out, but now I at least have a catch can. I shoved a rag in on top of it just in case some oil decides to try and get out the holes.

I'll be doing it better later on, but for now this will have to do. I still have emissions BS to deal with, so I don't wanna get to far into the mods necessary to eliminate all the stuff that never should have been put on the engine in the first place.

Oh yea, I also fixed my trans dip stick, it wont be popping out any time soon! I just took a pair of pliers and slightly bent the edge in a bit, now it fits tight and won't come out unless I pull it out.
