The GDE tune places that shift point at 58 mph.

I think you have your numbers a little off. My GDE trans tune puts the shift points even lower than pre-F37 ever had them. 4th comes at 46mph vs 50 stock, and 5th comes at 56 vs 58 stock. You can also hold fifth down to 48mph, where stock it would downshift at 55. It sounds like his TCM for sale is exactly what you're looking for.

Their website indicates that their standard TCM tune puts the 5th shift point at 58 mph, while the towing tune puts the 5th shift point at 70 mph. I sure dont want my truck to shift into 5th at 70 mph.

There's always variation from vehicle to vehicle. Mine grabs 5th at 56mph. If you get racertracer's TCM yours will do it around there too.

We must be reading something different. From their website:

"The primary difference is the towing tune will hold 4th gear until 70mph (2280 engine rpm) and then upshift to 5th gear. Using 4th gear between 50-70mph while towing loads over 2500lb. is beneficial for holding gear while traversing hills and it also keeps the engine rpm in the most efficient torque zone to reduce the tendency for gear hunting"

That's the towing version RT has for sale.

I want the tune that shifts into 5th before my current post 37 with now shifts into 5th at 62 mph.

Not the way I read it. He got the tune before that one you describe existed. Anyway, that's an option now, but you have to specify when you order it and almost nobody here has it. Racer can you step in and clarify? Did you ever have it installed to check the shift points?

Maybe PM RT?

But I agree, he is NOT selling the towing one. He added towing into his description because at the time it was the only tune available, and it would hold 5th longer if you had to slow down going uphill with a LIGHT towing load, but for heavy loads you'd want to be in 4th, hence the newest tune. I would buy this tune ASAP if I had the EURO TC installed (it's still sitting on my shelf :banghead: )

The TCM has been out of the Vehicle for some time and I don't recall what the shift points were. Presently my CRD is in for service and I will not be able to reinstall it for testing until it returns, 4 to 6 weeks waiting on a cylinder head.

Timing belt, tensioner, pulleys, water pump, new glow plugs, rebuilt cylinder head and related parts = $1,800.

Labor = 8.5 hours

Reflash ECU. = 1 hour labor

The good thing is that I am at 103,000 miles and I needed to replace the timing belt.

No, he does not. He posted 3 posts above yours, "TCM SOLD" just about a year ago.
