If you get the 2005 be sure to download both the 2005 and 2006 FSMs. The online 2005 FSM is missing the cooling system info for the diesel in Section 7, 2006 FSM has it, and the diagnostic codes and associated system checks for 2005 were in separate 2005 Diagnostic manuals, 2006 FSM has that information included.

If anyone wants PDF versions of the 2005 Diagnostic Manuals drop me an email.

Curious. I have the 06 and I also refer to the 03 FSM because the 06 sometimes lacks descriptions for the numbered parts in the images.

ok thats more clear then. And I actually got to thinking about it as yesterday I rompt the gas in some gravel and the hind end got all sorts of squirly. Talking to a guy who has a gasser liberty he said if it spun the tires and got squirly then the BLD deffinately wasnt in effect as its totally noticable so an 05 it shall be

On ice or packed snow, that rear end will come around fast. If the front is pushing snow, it will come around too at any speed. That is why the Full Time FWD option (so that you can run it on wet and dry pavement) is nice in our setup, especially an '05 with no ESP/BLD/BFF/BFE.....

Good luck on your purchase, review the Noob Guide and download Sam's service manual.

Cool thanks will do. It took me over 2 years to find my last truck so Im sure itll take awhile. Im a picky sensored word and to me spending close to $20k on a rig is still a big deal that I aint going to rush into

My semi-bad. I forgot to mention that the 2006 FSM illustrations totally lack "keys" (e.g. text describing what the numbered items are). The 2005 FSM has those "keys" except for the missing diesel cooling sections.

Very strange. Something I could, in theory, fix if I had lots of time and wasn't so backed up on scanning and identifying family material going well back into the 1800's, working on CRD enhancements, house stuff, etc. Don't let anyone tell you that you will have lots of time when you are retired. Just like "stuff" expands to fill all available space; "things" expand to fill all available time upon retirement.
