I bought a new crown water pump from autopartswarehouse.com a couple weeks ago, it got here within 3 days. Just a reference for anyone else. Also, whoever has the tools from GDE needs to hurry up & return them so I can get my crd back on the road.

I ordered my water pump from a dealer here in Indiana on January 11. At that time approx. 70 were due to the DC on 01/20. Got the call earlier this past week that it was in.

So... if you had one on order through Mother Mopar around that same time, maybe yours will be in soon too.

So I sent my (perfectly functioning) water pump off the the rock auto rebuild place (CARDONE Industries) a week or so back. It arrives on my doorstep today with a sticker that says it cannot be rebuilt. WTF? It's not even broken. And no one tried to call me to let me know or anything. I have an e-mail into rock auto to find out what the hell happened but I'm also thinking of calling MPA and seeing if I can just buy a new one.

Grrrr....

Just pulled the water pump on our 2005 CRD, as part of the timing belt job (etc).

I ordered a factory unit from http://www.mmaautoparts.com/, it arrived about a week ago - so evidently they have some.

If you want to try rebuilding it, you're welcome to the OEM unit that came out of mine.. 165k miles on it, but no issues that I could tell.

Is that the water pump you shipped to the for repair? The one I got back today was not the I shipped to Cardone, this one is filthy! Did you sent the whole pump in or just the front half?

Quick update I ordered a water pump from MPA on Monday and it shipped today (Wednesday). So OEM pumps are readily available.

I spoke to VM Motori regarding the water pump not being available and the tech informed me that we can call VM Motori North America (248 977 5901) to get the pump or any other parts we need for the timing belt.

The lead time will be reasonable since they may have it in stock and the price will be the same as the dealer.
