The original glow plugs were snugged in about like spark plugs. Once they turned with about 5 pounds of push on a 3/8 inch ratchet I used just the extension and socket twisted by fingers to remove them completely. I put the new ones in with plastic hose and snugged them with the ratchet. About 10 pounds of push on the 3/8 inch ratchet. I bout the jeep new so I knew the original plugs had to be ceramic, although I could not tell the ceramic from the Italian metal ones by looking. Once removed I measured the resistance and one was open. I busted the element with pliers and it was ceramic. The ceramic surprised me with how tough it was. Anyway I'm good to go. Waiting for the next issue. So far at 77K my 06 truck has had nearly every issue they talk about on this forum.
