Guys.. guys.. guys. Calm down a little, lol.

I greatly appreciate the concern and I'll be popping it open today. I've got the belt and tensioner and will get those swapped.

I have broken more timing belts than some of you have had cars, the joys of building high hp drag motors. I get where your coming from.

Doc4444 - Yes I have actually. I was towing 12k worth of kubota and attachments behind and e350 at about 70mph when the 3 studs for the steering box pulled through the frame. Have you ever tried to stop a van with that big of a load, with no steering, lol.

I appreciate all the heads up and offers to change the belt. Snap-on has my right testy (or the equivalent in cash) so ill be putting my tools to good use today.

Thanks again and Happy Trails!

While good advice generally, the belt really doesn't care if you towing a trailer or not. Engine load has little effect on the belt.

Changing RPMs matters, as fast acceleration of RPMs puts stress on the belt as it drags the camshafts up to speed. Towing would result in more downshifts, and therefore more RPM changes, but outside of that the belt has no more stress on it towing or not towing.

With all the water pump failures on this board, I don't know why anyone would replace the belt and not the water pump at the same time.
