I would say so as CRD has an extra liter and different injection system is probably why. There is some difference in the CCV system, VW has some wire screening inside the valve cover that helps some with oil vapor. If you are seeing water vapor I would think it is mostly do to CRD only runs 173 degree water temp, where VW has a 190/5 degree water temp system keeping the engine warmer and evaporating engine mosture better I would guess.

No wonder they are killing EGRS and misc sensors, this is quite the little smoker.

He hasn't cleared his inventory then as he should, it shows he has two on the Chrysler parts net. I guess there is nothing sailor proof.

Here is the link: http://www.autoanything.com/grille-guards/10A50168.aspx

Now I ordered one that will fit a 2005 Liberty, I left out the fact that it is a CRD, I drove mine
to the local lot and parked it next to a 2005 gasser and I believe that anything that fits an 05
will work, the opening is different but the mounting holes are the same spacing, so in 3-7 days
hopefully I will have something that will fit. I opted for the following:

472363 T&H Center Grille Guard - Stainless
Vehicle: 2005 Jeep Liberty Fits All Submodels
Color: Stainless
Type: Custom Product
1 $409.00 Most orders ship out in 3 to 7 business days. Please allow additional time for delivery
Ships via FEDEX Ground $409.00

Will post once I have it so we can see how it fits.

I like this one by T&H, it's $478.50 with free shipping.

T&H Center Guard With Skid Plate - Black with center bar for lights like the one Ripster has picked out.
Part #31230909/31236909

Interesting thread, I've been looking for something like the WAAG one... in fact I sent them last week an email about the availability of a Frontrunner for the '05 model, here's her answer:
---------------
All photos are available on www.waag.com, photos and showroom. I don't believe we fit this model. We have not installed any parts on this vehicle.
Irma Echeverria
Sales
---------------

Out of luck, i really liked that model that protects the lower bumper part, specially since I broke the darn ABS plastic side while trying to get closer to a parking attendant last Friday
I can just say that in a fight between plastic bumper and cement bar, cement wins...

Ok,ok you got me on that on for sure.

Myself I have decided to wait on all the non reliability mods to do or get done things like CCV, differential cover, fuel system mod and such things like that on the CRD that can cure/help reliability problems. This was a purchace vehicle, with intent of long term ownership, if too many bugs keep popping up it will be gone long before the warranty is up.

Now I need to figure out the fuel line size and where I am putting another fuel filter/water seperator at for easy access. I may do one of the RACOR models as I have always liked the looks of their products.

BlackSmoke,

I have the Waag gard however I cannot recommend it to anybody as their customer service is lacking.

After numerous discussions with one of their senior people, I found their customer service to be lacking specifically they make promises that they don't keep. They offered me free light mounts for KJ since their other models have them built in. It is my opinion that they state this so you buy their product but they don't follow through.

They even openly admit that dealers don't promote their products because they cost more while other comparable manufacturers like Westin offer a broader range of goods ie chrome and is less expensive... that is why your local dealers don't stock Waag.

That is my experience with them.

Also check the weld points for rust...

Given you are in Seattle, you are better off getting a ARB.

Liberator,
Thanks much for the feedback! That's what I like about this forum: honest and qualified opinion.
So I'll focus on the ARB, although for my own taste I find it a bit big, it protudes up front too much... If only they could have a flat version without winch.

BTW I like your 3 ASCII pics... exactly my taste too, although not in that order
