Any shop that tells you they have done timing belts on a duramax is not to be trusted. The camshaft, injection pump and water pump are all gear driven on that engine. No chain, and no belt.

Just an update, everything is fine. Once my trusted wrench got into the top 1 rocker had too much movement . So I had him replace them all and put in metal glow plugs.

Now all is right, she clacks on down road like a diesel should!
