I just installed a deeper pan. When I took off the old/New pan it had marks from the dip stick hitting it. I had my trans rebuild two years ago. They put a new pan on it. But now my dip stick fits perfectly.

The reason I brought this up is ever since I installed my Suncoast I really don't know if I have too much or too little fluid. All documentation I've read states during a normal service (not draining the torque converter) the refill should be 14.1 quarts. Since I changed the torque converter it would be substantially more than that. But if I go by the dipstick it said it was full after 12 quarts. But I can't tell if that's the actual level or just some residual on the sides of the tube where the dipstick is binding and touching. So I put 15 quarts in and that's where I've left it pretty much ignoring the dipstick.

If you are not spitting trans fluid from your dip stick tube I'd say you are good.

/ Has anyone ever had a transmission failure from overfilling?
//For scientific purposes of course.
///Please send any unused ATF+4 my way for testing.
