Silly question I suppose:
Have you bled both the Racor 30 micron pre-filter AND the Mopar Gen II filter heads?
Your signature line indicates you have a pre-filter so I thought I'd ask.
..........and of course the next logical thing is addressing the quick-connects in the fuel system if you still have them of course.

Auberon, I will update my profile, I removed the Racor fuel filter a while ago. I had installed it in view of a trip to Morocco.
But regarding the connections to the Fuel filter head, I will check them out.
Thanks

Thanks very much for having the courtesy to give feedback. It is appreciated.
Maybe - even tho you have a lift pump at the tank end the connections there may need a check but I think I read in a post of yours that some of your friends had already suggested checking the lines so you may already have that covered.
Another thing - is your intake elbow (the one weeks101 sells a replacement for) and FCV assembly clear? I figure that could be adversely affecting the mixture if it's coked up.
I'm also unsure of the affect of a failed FCV - if gears are stripped - it could cause a fluttering valve at idle that would be consistent at higher engine speed....I'm guessing with that one but wish you luck. At least it's easy to check (relatively).

FYI, Auberon: most manly men usually don' need no steenkin' courtesy - they just grunt a lot and later re-post the idea like it was theirs in the first place...................

It seems SOLVED!! I made a quite long trip during Xmas, went to visit family, 800 miles one way. 1600 mile total. The Liberty was heavily loaded both ways. I drove stable approx. 75 m/h to go when but hammered a bit more on the way back to 85 m/h stable. I also made sure all connections on the fuel head were good.
Since I am back home, the idle is perfect stable even with in drive :-)
I have now 238000 km: 148 k miles.....and all is fine! Love it!

i see that i my previous post was not very clear.
actually i beleive that these 2 long drives made the problem disapear, which means that it was probably some dirt in the fuel head or in a pump line or vaccum line.

The fact that i messed a bit with the fuel head plugs, may have helped as well. maybe a connector was loose although none seemed to be, no click, no loose stuff.

But anyway, now the KJ runs great !!

And i hop eit will do so for thousands of miles more!
